You can also contribute by partnering with ACHIEVE to provide on-the-job training at your business location or contracting with us for routine tasks within your company that take time away from employees needed to perform other duties. These may include repetitive motion tasks such as napkin folding, kit assembly, and fulfillment, or box building. These are just a few of the many ways that you can become a member of the ACHIEVE team. The opportunities are unlimited. The ball is in your court, let’s build our community team now and make a significant difference in the lives of the people we serve.

Employment Services
Department of Economic Security (DES)
Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD)

Eligibility Requirements:
- Is a resident of Arizona
- Has a diagnosis of: epilepsy, cerebral palsy, autism, or a cognitive disability that occurred prior to the age of eighteen (18)
- The disability has substantial functional limitations in three of the seven major life areas
Group Supported Employment
These employment opportunities are offered within the community at one of ACHIEVE’s federal, state or local community contracts. The client and case management team jointly determine to expand employment within the community with the assistance of a job coach. Clients will receive “on-the-job” training and will earn minimum or federal government wages and may be subject to time studies.
Individual Supported Employment / Support Aide
Clients are employed by local community businesses that have collaborated with ACHIEVE to insure the employment of individuals with disabilities. ACHIEVE staff assists clients and business owners to overcome barriers to employment in preparation for long-term employment.

These services are performed throughout the communities where ACHIEVE collaborates with local businesses in Yuma. Employment services may include one or more of the following:
Eligibility Requirements:
- Resident of Arizona
- Documented of disability that presents a barrier to employment
- Has the potential and desire to work and needs services to assist with employment
Work Adjustment Training
Utilized by Vocational Rehabilitation clients with significant disabilities who require extensive services to prepare for competitive employment. This program assists clients in developing necessary skills in preparation, obtaining and maintaining meaningful employment by:
- Acclimating to work through time-limited trial work experience
- Job customization and accommodations
- Education on the meaning, value, and responsibilities of work
- Develop and maintain a positive attitude towards work that increases successful employment opportunities
Job Development and Placement
This service provides assistance in obtaining employment for job-ready clients who have achieved educational and vocational skills necessary for the desired employment but who require assistance with the development of basic skills. The competencies learned help prepare the client for obtaining and maintaining employment as well as providing time-limited “on-the-job” support. Clients receiving these services may work within ACHIEVE or within the community.
Supported Employment
This service assists clients who require extended employment in preparation, obtaining, and maintaining meaningful employment. It matches a client with an integrated competitive job with intense time-limited support for an employed client, once placed. It is a service designed for clients with the most significant disabilities who:
- Competitive employment has not occurred
- Due to the nature and/or severity of their disabilities need intensive supported employment services and substantial assistance in obtaining and maintaining competitive employment in an integrated work environment that is consistent with the client’s selected vocational goal, abilities, capabilities, interests, and informed choice.
- requires a significant degree of on-the-job support to learn the job tasks, adjust to the work environment, acquire basic work skills, and offers stability
- provides ongoing extended supported employment in a condition that ensures maintaining employment
