Ability One Program
The Ability One Program is the largest source of employment in the United States for individuals who are blind or have significant disabilities. Through its network of over 600 nonprofit social enterprises, almost 45,000 individuals with disabilities and 400 veterans are employed in the program.
Since 1938 the Ability One Commission has administered this nationwide program in over 1,000 locations. Through the Ability One Program, individuals with significant disabilities and Wounded Warriors can enjoy full participation in their community and subsequently market their acquired skills in other public and private sector jobs.
